Serafina sighed and took up her latte to drink it again. "Thank you." She whispered.
"I Dont know if I deserve it. I've had everything I need and still I cant make myself be happy... I should be happy with what I have..."

"You should always do what makes you happy, what would make you happy?" He asked her, curious as to what was missing in her life that she didn't have already to make her happy. She seemed to have everything, a good family, money, respect..what else could be missing?

"I..." She circled her bracelet around her wrist. "I... just wish I... I had a husband who loved me..."

"I don't think its that he doesn't love you, its just Gio, you know? But then again, no woman should feel unloved ever. What makes you think he doesn't love you Sera?" He asked her as he drank from his coffee.

Serafinas eyes instantly filled with tears that spilled over and she sniffed and looked down. "I... i'm pretty sure he's having an affair, or maybe several different affairs. He comes home late smelling like scotch and perfume all the time..." She wiped at her tears and blinked, "Luciano, I dont want to make things awkward for you, but... well... I want to know the truth..."

He pulled the handkerchief out of his front jacket pocket and passed it over to her, "Don't cry, there's no reason for you to ever cry." He told her. He knew of Giovanni's affairs but knew that he had a promise that he had to keep first and foremost to his boss. He reached across the table and held her hand, "You know I have a promise to Giovanni and that I can't talk about certain things, if you understand what I mean." He said, hinting at his confirmation of her accusations.

Serafina took the hankerchief and started to daintily wipe at her eyes. As he spoke, she knew it was true and she winced. "I understand." She said as she felt about a thousand daggers go into her heart.
She'd known it was true, but this was confirming it. She didnt know what she was going to do...

"I didn't mean to upset you Sera, you shouldn't let his misfortune get to you as it is...you've done nothing. Sometimes, in most cases with men, the blood doesn't always flow in the direction of their brain if you know what I mean." He told her, trying to get her to stop crying.

Serafina whimpered but tried to stop crying. "I'm sorry... i'll stop." She sniffed a few more times and wiped at her eye, but managed to make herself stop.
It didnt matter that Luciano made excuses for Giovanni, Serafina still blamed Giovanni for what he did and thought he did it just to be cruel to her...
She'd have to find out for sure thoug...
She looked out the window, an unhappy frown on her face for a long moment, letting her latte sit where it was...

He looked across the table at her and only felt the need to console her at this point. There was nothing he could say to make the problem any better although he was willing to try, "I told you, you deserve better than that..you and your children deserve better than that." He told her.

"Thank you..." Serafina whispered, dabbing at her eyes and looking up at him with a sad smile. "You're so sweet Luciano, and a good friend. I dont know why you're waisting your valuble time talking to me, but thank you..."

"I'm not wasting my time, I care for you Sera." He said as he looked across the table at her. "If there is anything that I could do for you, ever, you make sure you let me know..okay?" He told her with a small smile. He didn't like to see her cry and just felt a need to reach and out and hug her or console her.

He smiled at her as he to stood up out of respect, "It was nice, thank you for joining me." He said as he finished his coffee and through two hundred bucks down on the table, pocket change for him. "I'm sorry to keep you though, I hope you arrive before your son gets home." He said sincerely.
