Raul looked at the crumpled piece of paper in his hand and up at the apartment in front of him. This was the right place, he thought. As he approached the entrance, he mused over what he would say. Sitting in the trunk of his car, a mere few meters away from the apartment was the guy he had been lead to believe was the killer he'd been looking for. It turned out it was a decoy. Now Raul had another murder on his hands, but he was going to make sure he didn't get caught for this one.
Knocking on the door, he stuffed the paper into his pocket and looked up at the sky. It was starting to rain, just his luck. Knocking again, he started to take a few steps back. He needed somewhere to lay low for a while and wait for his associates to take his car away to be torched...

Kristen was working her stair stepper, sweaty in her sports bra and sweat pants, her hair tied back, sticking to her neck. If she had know who rang at her door she would have had a panic attack. But she actually was expecting her mother to come by for a visit while she was town.
So as she approched the door and opened it, drinking from her water bottle, Kristen didnt much care about her disheveled state.
Then she saw who it was, and her eyes turned large and she almost slammed it shut, catching the door at the last second to slowly open it once more, her face red with an embaressed grin.
"Hi!" She said, glad to see Raul because she was scared she'd never see him again, but also horrified at the sight of herself...

Raul pulled the collar of his jacket up a little and squinted at the sky when the rain started to hit his face. He wasn't going to be pleased if he got wet, he thought. Hearing footsteps at the other side of the door, Raul stopped his retreat and headed back to the step. When the door was opened, and then almost slammed in his face, he rolled his eyes and wondered if he was going to have to find somewhere else to hide out. But much to his surprise, the door didn't shut, and rather, started to open up again.
"I'm coming in" he said simply and somewhat rudely, slipping his mass through the opening in the doorway "Close the door". Right now, Raul didn't seem like he cared or even noticed what she looked like - he actually did, and he found it quite amusing more than anything, but he didn't show it. Instead, he waltzed on into her house like he owned the place...

"Um. Okay." Kristen said, shutting the door quickly and locking it. She turned back to watch Raul, a smile on her face as she followed him.
She didnt mind at all that he was being rude or walking around like he owned the place. It made her feel like they were in a real relationship (which only goes to show how bad her relationships in the past had been.)
"Could I get you anything?" She asked quickly, stepping towards the kitchen part of the room. Her place was a lot smaller than Rauls with just a single room for the kitchen and living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

Once Raul heard the lock of the door clicking behind him, he sighed silently. Hopefully nobody would be able to find him here - maybe the FBI, but he could handle them a lot easier than the people he was hiding from. Heading into the living room, he took some steps toward the window and looked outside, his hands buried in his pockets.
"Where's the bathroom?" he asked in reply, turning to look over his shoulder at her. There was blood on his hands and a little up his arms, but right now this was hidden by his jacket and his hands were safely tucked into his pockets.

Now Kristen thought he might be being rude to her, considering how it had been when she last saw him. Even so she pointed towards the bedroom where the bathroom was just beyond it.
"In there."
She brushed some of the loose strands of hair off her neck and went over to the kitchen to make some coffee while he did whatever he needed to do...

Raul nodded and headed off silently in the direction she had mentioned. Once he got to the bathroom, he closed the door behind him and slipped his arms out of his jacket. Heading straight for the sink, he scrubbed his hands clean, watching as the water turned pink in the basin. Then, after some prodding around at his arms, he located several pieces of glass lodged in his skin. Grabbing a towel from the side, he folded it and put it between his teeth, biting down hard as he regrettably yanked the shards out. It hurt like hell, but after a few minutes he was able to clean the wounds up as best he could.
Maybe he had been running on adrenaline, as now his ribs hurt and felt swollen. But that was pain he could handle until the heat died down. Opening the door, he pulled his jacket back on to hide his wounds and made his way back to Kristen, or more specifically, to the window where he could watch and wait for his car to be taken.

Kristen glanced over at Raul to see his expression almost a sulk and she took it personally, although she didnt know what she'd done to upset him.
She faced forward again, putting some lettuce on two ham and cheese sandwiches and frowning.
"So how have you been?" She asked, her back still to him, trying to make conversation.

Finally. Raul watched as a few of his men casually arrived and took the car away with no questions asked. They could go and torch it, bury the body and Raul would have an alibi. Briefly clutching his ribs he turned back to Kristen and gave a smile although it wasn't very convincing.
"Busy..." he replied and took some steps toward her "Look... about the other day... I'm sorry I had to run out like that, but it was urgent business.".

"I figured it was." Kristen smiled and turned around, carrying the plates to the table, "You dont have to worry. I'm a low maintenance girl." She lied. She actually wanted to feel more important than that, but she was desperate.
"Are you hungry? I didnt make both of these for myself." She sat at the little table and waited to see if he'd join her...
She'd noticed his smile was somewhat fake, and it worried her. If there was anything she'd experienced in her life, it was people near her that didnt want to be, and she worried that was the case here. Any moment Raul might leave, and she didnt want that to happen. She'd do anything to keep him...

"Hm." Raul muttered and took one last look out of the window, before reluctantly heading for the table, although each step made his ribs ache. The guy had put up a fight when Raul tried to get some info from him, that much was admirable, but that much wasn't enough for Raul not to kill him. As he got to the table, he pulled the chair out and tentatively lowered himself into the seat, his expression briefly clear that he was uncomfortable.
"Gracias" he said and reached out for one of the sandwiches to take a bite. Once his mouth was empty enough for him to talk, he licked his lips "So... the reason I came over..." he begun, and quickly started to think of an excuse - he didn't think it would go down too well if he explained he was just using her apartment to lay low "...we're going out for dinner tonight. You and me. The Full Moon Bar. Right? ". Raul took another bite and looked in her direction - he though that would be enough to keep himself in her good books, he never knew when she might come in handy.

Kristen watched him and frowned. Something was wrong, and it wasnt her, it was phsycial discomfort.
"Okay." She nodded to his proposal, taking a bight as well. "Whats the matter though? You look like you're hurting."

Raul tried to smile and nod when she accepted, although he hadn't expected her to refuse anyway. "Good." he said, finishing up the sandwich. It was painful in itself sitting hunched over the table, but it wasn't any worse than pain he'd felt before, it was probably going to be some bad bruising the next day.
"I just took a little knock..." he explained, relaxing back into the chair with another subtle wince of pain "... it's nothing some R&R won't cure, at least". He hoped so, at least. The glass wounds were a bit of a mess beneath his jacket, but he'd managed to stop the bleeding.

"Do you want some more?" She asked, noticing he'd finished the sandwich when she'd hardly eaten half of it.
"Do you want some pain killers? I have Ibuprofen or a loratab if you want one." The Loratab was from a surgery she'd had a year ago and she never finished the bottle but used it when she was home with really bad migraines.
Her litle grey kitty poked his head out from the bedroom and started to make its way towards its foodbowl in the kitchen...

Raul shook his head at the offer. He wasn't really hungry, he'd only eaten the sandwich to keep himself busy and for a reason to stick around. When she mentioned painkillers, he shook his head again. "No... I don't use that stuff. But thanks though" he replied with a smile, but that went when he noticed the kitten. Urgh... he hated animals, but he wasn't going to mention that. In fact, he would just ignore the kitty.
"So... dinner. What time is good for you?" he asked, referring to their 'date' later.
