Mafia Ranks:
Don- Also called the CapoFamigilia, is the head of a Mafia family. The Don's power is absolute.
SottoCapo- Also called the Underboss. The Underboss is the second-in-command.
Consigliere- Also called the Counselor. The Consigliere is a skilled diplomat, who irons out problems inside the family and resolves feuds with other borgatas.
Caporegime- Also called the Capodecina. The Caporegime is like a lieutenant, and typically heads a faction of 10 or more soldiers, comprising a "Crew."
Soldier- Also called the soldato. The soldier, carries out the day-to-day business of the family. A made member of the Mafia.
Enforcer- Also called the Piciotto. The Enforcers are low-ranking soldiers and are known on the street as button-men.
Associate- Also called the Giovane D'Honore. The Associates work with the mafia and engage in mafia activities, but they are usually of non-Sicilian or non-Italian descent.
