Giovanni wrapped his arms around his sons and led them towards where Serafina lay, he held his breath hoping to see if she would say something.

Serafina moaned slightly and shifted, her blue eyes eventually opened and as her vision came into focus she saw the three people she loved more than anything nearby.
"Gio..." She croaked weakly.
"Mommy!" Angelo threw his arms onto her and wept but his Nanny came forward quickly to comfort him and keep him from hurting her.
GianCarlo was holding back his own tears, trying to be brave...

Giovanni smiled and released the kids, and he himself knealt down by Sera and grabbing her hand, he kissed it and said, "What is it my love?" Giovanni was happy, yet a small part of him wanted the freedom. It was a small part, so small that he rarely even noticied it. Yet, it was there and he didn't know why.

Serafina weakly reached out to him, setting her hand on his arms. "I love you..." She breathed, her smile weak.
A nurse came in to see she was awake. "I'll inform the doctor. In the meantime I think its best to keep the morphine drip going."
Serafinas eyes closed again. She felt exhausted. Angelo started to throw a fit when he couldnt be closer to his mother and the nannu quickly ushered him from the room...

Giovanni smiled and motioned for GianCarlo to leave the room as well. Then without waiting to see in GianCarlo had actually left, Giovanni stood up and kissed Serafina on the cheek and said "Anything else you wish to tell me my love?"

Serafina remained quite for a moment, her eyes closed before she whispered, "Dont leave me..."

Giovanni smiled and replied kissing Serafina again, "I will never leave you." Then he pulled a chair next to the window directly next to Serafina's bed, and sat down in the chair. Not wanting to move unless he had to.
