She hated this part of town. She never wanted to be hear. But it was her gut telling her hear to come here. This woman was a fashionista. She wore the latest styles. She was wearing a black and white lace short sleeved corset style top, stone washed denim capri pants and black wedge flip flops. She carried a small gold purse with her. She walked into this place with a smirk. It was filled with drunk and people looking to drown their sorrows. But this woman didn't know what she was here for. She was here because of what her gut said. The womans sat at the bar. She ordered a grey goose with red bull. All she could do is look around. Not recognizing a face she just sat waiting for her drink.

Jack was in the back room fixing his last payroll sheets for friday. Paperwork was the absolute last thing he wanted to do, but since it was the only way to keep the bar he did what he had to do. He was never a really snazzy dresser, a pair of old work boots and dark jeans topped with a white undershirt and a black button down, wrinkled from a nap he took earlier, and now with the sleeves bunched up around his elbows. He walked out of the back room, surprised the place was actually crowded. He greeted a few regulars as he pushed his pencil behind his ear as he ducked under the bar flap. Jack had always had two constant things in his life, a scruffy looking face and bartending. He immediately relieved one of his head bartenders and gave her the rest of the night off. Behind the bar was his favorite place in the world. He picked up her tab sheet and made her last order before pouring a few beers for a group of guys at the end of the bar. He passed those down and then brought the vodka and red bull down towards the middle of the bar, " Vodka Red bull?" He called out in his thick irish accent not knowing who it was for.

The woman smiles and says "That would be mine" She grabs for it and grabs his hand on accident. She is taken to a place she tried so hard to suppress. The moment she remembers is a fight her and her ex jack had so many years ago. The two were on different career paths. She wanted to be F.B.I. He was stuck bar tending at his own bar. They were about to marry but this fight broke it up. She left and never saw him again. The woman shook her self and let goes of his hand. She takes the drink and nearly drinks it all. That memory was something she wanted to forget and fast. She then looked at the bartender. That face. She remembered it. It was Jack. The man she loved so long ago. You hear the question in her voice when she say "Jack??

The touch of her hand sent a chill up his arm and straight into his legs. The legit thing to do was to start filling pints with whatever was on tap, he filled two and pushed them down the bar before he heard his name called. He looked up at the Vodka and Red Bull lass and realized who it was. He felt as though he had been standing there with his mouth slightly ajar for hours which in reality was only seconds. He closed his mouth and stood up straight. She looked the same, beautiful and he hadn't shaved in a week and was sporting a tired beard. "Ally." He replied quietly.

She wanted to leap over the bar. She missed him so much. Allison wanted to be with him again. When they were apart all she could think of was him. Allison didn't want anything else. Jack was the only person on her mind and has always been. Now she understands her feelings. She grasped his hand and said gently "I have missed you.". The words slipped from her mouth. she really did love him but she still had a small grudge about their fight. In there fight he told her he never wanted kids. Where she has always wanted a child. She wants to be a mother. But at the right time and with the right man. But in this moment now Allison is so confused. All of her feeling surfaced for him.

He overloaded his life without her. He worked to hard and got into some business that he really shouldn't have. He had become a hitman for anyone who was willing to pay. He had done things that he never imagined doing when he was with her. "I have missed you." He heard her say. When they were together it was like a sonic boom of chemistry, he knew deep in his heart she was the one he was meant for. The sex was so good that the fights at first didn't mean that much. But once he started getting into the dangerous line of work, and opened his own bar, it got harder and harder to keep the relationship going as it had. The fights got longer and the final one just broke it. Kids, that was the topic. He knew that it was stupid to bring a kid into the world when he was putting himself at risk everyday with what he was doing. He couldn't just give it up either, he was bringing in so much money that he wanted them to use to start their family...he just couldn't loose that and then have her begin to ask questions as to where it all went. He looked down at her hand on his and then back up at her, "It's been a long time." He told her emotionless as the memory of her leaving him came to his mind. It was the worse day of his life, he remembered walking in their apartment and all of her stuff was gone. He never forgave himself and knew that in his heart he couldn't fully forgive her either.

She knew he probably couldn't forgive her for walking out. Allison understood that fact. She finished her drink. She looked at him with her blue eyes. " Look I know you probably can't forgive me. But I have come to terms with that. But I had a feeling. I needed to come here."[/i] she said as she moved the hair our of her face. Allison knew how he felt about her. She also knew how she felt about him. Allison wanted him but she knew they would never be again.

"Not here." He said quickly, not missing a beat. He pulled his hand back and walked to the end of the bar. He filled an order of shots before telling the other bartender on shift to take over for a bit. He moved under the bar flap and walked over to where she was sitting. He shook his head and rubbed his beard, "Follow me." He said as he motioned to the back room and began walking.

She followed them with a few tears in her eyes. They got to the back room. Allison want to a window and looked out it. She couldn't look at him. Her body felt pain and hurt. Allison says sweetly. "So You got me in here alone. Lets talk" She faced him and bit her bottom lip. A small tear rolled down her cheek. She was of that was a dramatic. but this was real pain

He sat down on the edge of her desk and looked over at her as he rubbed his beard, a nervous habit he always had. He was quiet for a while as he tried to collect his thoughts, " I never thought I'd see you again, so I never really prepared anything to say to you. I mean I loved you, I was ready to spend the rest of my life with you and marry you Ally, and you left me." He said with sad eyes as got up and walked around a bit as he spoke, " What happened to us Ally?" He asked.

Allison looked at her necklace. It held her engagement ring. She wiped the tear still standing there. She didn't like to sit when she was upset. Allison didn't want to make eye contacted. Jack was the one man she hated to cry in front of. She heard his question and sighed. " I don't know. All I know is we were arguing about out careers and what we saw for our future. It was like we became hateful people. When we were so in love.[/i] She said turning back around slowly walking to him holding her necklace tightly.

Jack rubbed his face and took a seat back on the edge of his desk as he folded his arms across his chest. " We fought because you became all about your career and you were making something for yourself. I'm a bartender, and I'm never going to be more than that, I could never give you more than that." He told her as he looked down at his boots. "None of your friends liked my and your parents couldn't stand me...I was below you." He added.

Allison wiped a tear. Yeah her parents hated their little girl falling for a man below her class. She was held to high standards. Her life was planned out by her parents. When she was with Jack she broke that, She made her own life. She fought the system. She fought everything to be with him. but in one instant she gave him up. Allison didn't know wht. But now she was ready to fight for it again. The only word she could say came from the heart "Jack I have dated others. I have lived a life my parents wanted for me. I am all grown up an able to do what I want . I need to live for me . I need what I want. What I happen to want in this moment is to be with you." She faced him and got closer to him.

"But how long are you willing to make that moment last?" He asked her as he stood from the desk and took her by the wrists and rubbed them in his hands. He wanted his normalcy back and wanted to finally get some part of his life together even though it was always up in the air in his other line of work.

"I am willing to make it last all my life. I always have been. I was just to dumb to realize it" She says with tears in her eyes. She kissed his lips so softly. Allison got lost in this moment. Her life made a little sense. She was living for herself now. His is what she wanted. Allison pulled back from the kiss and took off her necklace. They never really called off the engagement. She took the rings off the chain. She put the diamond ring on her finger and smiled.
